This time I am taking a little trip down memory lane. I am taking you back to spring when I first visited the beautiful Greek mainland. Parga has breathtaking views, even better food and places that seem to come straight from a painting. So if you are planning your visit to Greece, I would suggest you book a flight to Parga (Epirus). And I promise you, this town will not disappoint you.
I love to think that we are all born with a blank canvas. And that we get to paint it the way we like, by the things we experience and the countries we visit. Traveling through Asia and countries in the northern part of Africa (such as Morocco and Tunesië) make me paint a brighter picture. Because meeting people from cultures that are so different from ours makes me feel like a richer person. Those people paint my soul. And when I come home from these travels I appreciate everything I have, so much more. And it is crazy to think that so many things are turning into normal when it is an absolute dream from someone who lives across the world.
So yeah, a brighter color on a beautiful canvas. And a backpack filled with great memories. I am so thankful for every country I have visited and every beautiful place I’ve been to.
My recent travel to Parga in Greece was one of the best travels I’ve made to Greece. It was my first time visiting the mainland of Greece because I used to visit the beautiful and idyllic islands. Greek people and Greek food, I don’t have to explain to someone that has already been there, that these two ingredients make your trip unforgettable. The people are so nice, and the food is amazing. The mainland makes no exception. The food is fresh, and come from local farmers. And in fact, I think people are even nicer.
Parga is a village that seems to come straight out of a painting. Colorful houses are built across the hills, which is a beautiful sight from the water. The streets are steep and picturesque, and they lead you from one lovely restaurant through another. The shops are different from what I am used to in a Greece touristic place. They are filled with beautiful handcrafted pieces that will make your holiday memories last even longer.
These places will feed your appetite
If you love to enjoy a great meal I would highly recommend you to have dinner at the Five Senses restaurant, which can be found just outside the city center. And they serve the traditional courses with a modern twist. You would want to lick your fingers when you are done. If you are a wine lover and would love to eat in the oldest restaurant in Parga, Castello is your place. Even the walk to this restaurant is beautiful, and the patio will not disappoint you. And at last, but for sure not least, I would recommend dinner at Sakis. This traditional family restaurant serves the best meals which are all made from old family recipes. And while you are enjoying your dinner you will have a beautiful lookout over the sea, which is special during the golden hour.
Parga is a secret treasure, for sure. And this lovely city stole my heart. The area is beautiful. So rich and green. And if you finally decide to go, don’t forget to check out the Piso Krioneri Beach, it is so cozy and peaceful you will never want to leave. And the only restaurant located at the beach serves the best-stuffed tomatoes, yum!
Have you ever been to Greece?
