A postcard from Burgh-Haamstede
My best memories are the ones we make together.
Although the climate is changing, and that is scaring the shit out of me (because mother nature is not ready for this) summer has been treating us really good. The temperatures are a bit tropical and that’s kind of new for us as Dutchies. So I’m not complaining about not being at a beach in Greece right now.
If you are ever planning a trip to the beach make sure this beach is on your list. It’s one of the prettiest beaches, but it’s also nice and quiet. You’ll find yourself in the company of a few people and even more seagulls. And they make up a good company, trust me haha! At Burgh-Haamstede the color of the sand is close to white, they have these cute little cabins and the most amazing dunes. Can it get more picturesque than this?
Burgh-Haamstede also has the cutest little town. Here you’ll find a few little shops and cozy restaurants. They even have great smoothies and some meals for vegans, so we started our day here. Then we went off to the beach, dipped our toes in the North Sea, relaxed a bit. And when the sun treated us with beautiful lightning towards the end of the day, we decided to pack our bags and drive to Nieuw-Haamstede. It’s only a 10-minute drive but the change of scenery is totally worth it.
So just choose a path you like (they have different trails towards the beach with different lengths) and enjoy your evening walk. The forest and the dunes are beautiful and the coastline is absolutely stunning. Here you won’t find any cute beach clubs, and it’s just you and this beautiful beach. Great for nature and outdoor lovers, and even better to shoot some amazing content.
It was great to be back at this beautiful place. I used to come here as a little kid with my grandparents and the entire family. We have quite a big family so coming here was always a lot of fun. And now my grandparents are gone, I still cherish these precious memories and I loved to share this part of my childhood with Thomas. And I can’t wait to come back for more.
