8 Amazing Places You Should Visit In Europe In Spring
Dordrecht – Villa Augustus | The Netherlands
Dordrecht is the oldest town in The Netherlands, and therefore it’s absolutely a city you must visit when you are in the country. We have our own canals, cute old buildings, picturesque streets and great hotspots. Villa Augustus is just one of them. And it’s absolutely beautiful during spring. They serve great food and vegetables and herbs from their own garden and greenhouse.

Brussels – City Center – Grote Zavel | Belgium
Brussels is a pretty big city. A nice city to spend a day or two. But personally I prefer the old town over the big city center. Here you find beautiful old buildings, the best vintage shops in town and you leave most of the tourist behind. Which is perfect for me. And if your lucky, you’ll even see some cherry blossom trees.
Goeree-Overflakkee | The Netherlands
Visiting the tulip fields in The Netherlands is such a treat. While the blossoms slowly fade away these beautiful flowers light up our days. The views are endless and beautiful. And please don’t stick around Amsterdam, these fields are way to crowded. Take a long drive through the countryside and you’ll be surprised what you’ll see along the way.
Japanese Cherry Blossom Park – Amsterdamse Bos | Amsterdam
Right next to Amsterdam you’ll find a forrest that is called ‘Amsterdamse Bos’. Here you’ll find a beautiful Japanese Garden which is packed with cherry blossom. Make sure you’ll go on a picnic in this beautiful park. And plan an early trip if you want to have the blossoms to yourself, because it can be pretty crowded here because it’s a very popular place!

Bonn | Germany
Bonn is like a fairytale that is brought to life. It has romantic vibes like Paris and every view you dream of during spring. We where just a few days early to see the pink blossoms in full bloom, but these quite unknown streets (the pink blossom is more popular) are like a dream while the beautiful white blossom was out. Can you imagine living here? I can! And I’m already planning my trip for next year, nothing is stopping me now to see the pink blossom in full bloom haha!
Royal Greenhouses of Laeken – Brussels | Belgium
The Royal Greenhouses of Laeken are a dream come true. Each year the Royal Family let people visit their gardens and the beautiful greenhouses for just three weeks. Here you find a big variety of flowers and trees. A lovely Japanese garden (which is beautiful in spring because of the blossom, but unfortunately I was a little too late) and of course, the greenhouses as the highlight of your visit. They all have a different theme and my favorite was the biggest greenhouse which is a tropical dream with humongous palmtrees. So if your around town in spring, make sure to check the dates and plan your visit. You will not regret it!
P.s. I will upload a full blogpost soon.

Planten un Blomen – Hamburg | Germany
In June it was time to hit right back to Germany, because there is so much to explore in this country. A few years ago Hamburg was selected as the greenest capital city of Europe, so you can imagine why I wanted to go and see for myself. Thomas and I drove up to this city and it did not disappoint us. Hamburg has a beautiful old city centre and the parks around the city are like a dream. Planten un Blomen was a dream. Gardens filled with a sea of roses, flowers and a beautiful botanical garden (with a cactus greenhouse!). We walked around for hours and where really sad we had to leave this beautiful place. We will dcertainly come back for more.

Rozenhof – Dordrecht | The Netherlands
Now it’s finally time to show you more of my beautiful hometown. There is this court that is my favorite hidden gem in Dordrecht. In June this whole place turns into a dreamy field of flowers. And that’s exactly where ‘Rozenhof’ got it’s name from, it’s Dutch for Rose Court. It’s in the middel of the city center and it’s so peaceful and quiet. And places like this make me want to pick spring over summer, as a real summer lover, who would have thought that!
